Elective Affinities

Exhibition by the Forum for Applied Art

This year is the twentieth edition of the EinBlick open studio days. For this biennial of applied art, seventeen studios will open their doors over the weekend, showcasing not just the wealth of the Nuremberg arts and crafts scene, but also invited guests from all over Germany. A wonderful opportunity to make all kinds of discoveries.

For the eleventh time, the open studios event is accompanied by an exhibition by the Forum for Applied Art Nuremberg, at Neues Museum. The title of this year’s edition is Elective Affinities. Each of the Forum’s five members has chosen a colleague to whom they feel connected in terms of formal idiom, working methods, conceptual approach or thematic focus. This results in five interesting pairings, with current work from the fields of jewellery, devices, ceramics and glass.

Paul Müller and Svenja John – Cornelius Réer and Beate Leonards – Sabine Steinhäusler and Christine Graf – Annette Zey and Maya Fenderl – Sabine Ziegler and Christine Wagner

Anniversary celebrations and introduction to the exhibition

We want to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the open studios – as well as the current exhibition, of course – in style: with a brief look back, an introduction to the exhibition, drinks and DJs at Neues Museum. We look forward to welcoming many people to the party!
